As I write this there’s still no confirmation of this being completed, but with interview after interview, Cohen Bramall looks set to sign for Arsenal.
Now, I can see the confused looks on everyone’s faces and people rushing off to load up Football Manager just to see how good he actually is and, more importantly, who is Cohen Bramall?
I must admit, I knew nothing about the lad, and at 20 years old that’s not what I would call wonder kid age. But clearly he has done something to impress Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger and the scouts who have been raving about him in recent weeks. With a potential price tag of £40,000, that will be a nice little earner in the bank for Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Club Hednesford Town.
So what do we know about Cohen Bramall?
Well, he plays left back or midfield is 6 foot 2 and possesses a fair amount of pace. This lad is swift and looks quick off the blocks and can certainly cross a ball. He seems to possesses a fair amount of strength and looks to have good athletic ability if his ease for running up and down the left side of the pitch is anything to go by. He even has an eye for goal, ok it was one goal but even so. There is footage online of his rabona assist playing for Hednesford Town which even made it onto Soccer AM. I’m sure Arsenal have had a close up look at him after 2 days training with the squad, rather than the 2 minutes of internet footage I managed to view of him, which clearly shows him to be a world beater already and nailed on saviour of English football.
But for Bramall who, according to some reports, was not so long ago made redundant from his full time job and until this season had never set the world alight, to now be on the verge for signing for Premier League Arsenal, is the stuff all of us dream of.
I think it’s time for me to dust my boots off and get out on the pitch, because there is hope for us all. Although my wife quickly pointed out to me “not with your dodgy knees!”
Oh well back to the day job, the truth always hurts.
