Transfer News

Welcome to the Relocation Conversation. It’s what you get if you get if you put transfer gossip into a thesaurus and is my angle on everyone else’s transfer rumours.

Can someone please slam that window shut, there a terrible smell outside! It’s not been the best January transfer window in terms of activity. Even the gossip has been poor. I guess that’s testament to the fact that the past month has seen Robert Snodgrass become more sought-after than Frodo’s ring. Only a few more days so let’s get through this together.

Arsenal are understood to be in advance talks with Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri about succeeding Arsene Wenger. Urm guys, he’s only banned for another three games, no need to do anything drastic.

In player news the Gunners are set to battle Manchester United for the signature of Antoine Griezmann. With reports of the Frenchman costing upwards of £85 million, it’s any wonder that they could be set to move on a new manager. Its doubtful Wenger would see any value in a purchase that high. Besides, no tweets of the Emirates from Griezmann’s brother so if you’re an Arsenal fan then I wouldn’t get your hopes up just yet.

West Ham owner David Sullivan has stated he wants to sign a ‘few more British players’ in the near future. That’s a good aim for the club but until the Hammers actually cough up a respectable valuation of a player they won’t get much more this window.

Sullivan may have tasted his own medicine by accepting a £25 million bid for on strike forward Dimitri Payet. A player who could have moved for any amount of money in the summer looks to be heading back to Marseille to join a band of Premier League exiles including Remy Cabella and Bafetimbi Gomis.

On-loan Derby striker Chris Martin is set for talks with his parent club about a return from Fulham. The 39 year old singer songwriter with Coldplay is demanding a move back to the midlands club where he has just signed a new contract*

*there were two listed on Wikipedia, fairly sure I got the right one.

Marco Silva and Paul Clement clearly played some Football Manager this season before taking the helm at their new clubs. Both Hull and Swansea are interested in free agent Diego Poyet.

The ink is dry on:

After confirmation of Berahino’s move to Stoke, Spanish playmaker Bojan has left on loan to Bundesliga club Mainz. It may have been wise to check if Berahino was interested to play for the Potters before clearing out the other options.

And finally, as mentioned above, big fish in a small pond Snodgrass has chosen his next employer. Having been able to pretty much pick from any side in the bottom half, the Scot has moved to the Olympic Stadium.
