Fantasy Football

Whoa there, not because I like Christmas. God no. Far from it in fact. But my points have been decent whilst everyone has been getting fat on turkey and mince pies. Very good, in fact. Gameweek 19 amassed a mammoth 94 points making up for the previous week’s measly 24 or so. How did I manage that? Harry Kane with his pre-Chrimbo hat-trick, Alli feeding him, Sergio getting a game and goals and Jordan Pickford being a genius signing. That’s how.

But Gameweek 20 has hardly disgraced itself…

Jordan Pickford, 10 points

A clean sheet (obviously, this is Big Sam we are talking about), three saves and three bonus points means I am cock-a-bloody-hoop about bringing this guy into the side. That’s 19 points in the last two rounds from him. Love it. And Everton play Bournemouth at the weekend!

Ben Davies, 0 points

Benno got rested against Southampton, which probably made sense as why would they need actual defenders for that one? For all I know, Shinji might get called off the bench in his place as I still don’t know how the automatic subs work.

Cesar Azpilicueta, 12 points

Get the ball, cross it to Alvie, celebrate goal. This has happened nine times now, apparently. Throw that in alongside the points from the previous match and Senor Azpi makes me a very happy man.

Jamaal Lascelles, 2 points

I have to admit, I forgot to sub him out and didn’t notice they were playing City this time round. It didn’t really matter though, 2 points from that game is a touch!

Phil Jones, 1 point

It’s Jonesy that is starting to cock me off. He was class a few weeks ago and now he has regressed to his mean. Toilet, basically.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek

69 minutes against Arsenal for the greatest English prospect there has ever been. He will have better days.

Richarlison, 5 points

Yet another assist for the Brazilian who was playing up-front on his own. Mind you, that’s got to be easier than playing with Troy Deeney I’d imagine. What a signing he has been.

Dele Alli, 15 points

A goal and two assists from the man, and look at the passes for the two assists. Beautiful. Yes, I know he shouldn’t have been playing and all that, but he was and he did very well indeed.

David Silva, 0 points

David was given the night off against Newcastle United

Sergio Aguero, 2 points

Sergio looked like he’d had the night off against Newcastle United, though he did hit the post.

Harry Kane, 34 points

Never doubted you Harry, never doubted you. This is why you are always my Fantasy captain. Don’t even worry about the World Cup mate, just keep scoring in the Premier League please.

Total: 85 points

I tell you what, I’ve scored more in the last week than I have in the last three months. Or at least, it feels that way. All my arrows are green and I am up to 17th once again. I’d take top ten come the end of the season, I really would. I’m 8th for December which shows my form.

Tottenham don’t appear to be playing in Gameweek 21 for some reason, which means I have Kane, Alli and Ben Davis surplus to requirements. I will need to come up with a plan for that, a plan that even I cannot screw up.
