Liverpool

Liverpool and Chelsea are two of the most successful teams in English football with many domestic and Europe trophies won throughout their histories.

Liverpool’s major success came back through the 1970’s and 80’s in which they dominated the top tier of English football. They have won a phenomenal 18 league titles in total with the most recent coming back in the 1989/90 season under Kenny Dalglish. Yet, and don’t remind the Scousers of this fact – that was a very, very long time ago. Another team in red kinda took over.

Liverpool have also had major success in Europe which included their stunning comeback in the 2004/05 tournament. This was their 5th and most recent European Cup as is now renowned as the miracle in Istanbul. The result on that memorable night in Turkey will go down as one of the most incredible in footballing history. But, again, a very, very long time ago (though at least it happened in the Premier League era). You can bet on Liverpool to win in the future games in both the Premier League and as they venture further in the Champions League this season.

The most successful Liverpool manager in European competition was Bob Paisley who won his first in the 1976/77 season and further added another two.

Liverpool have also gathered a vast number of domestic league and FA Cup trophies.

Chelsea, well as we all know, they were only really formed in 2003 so any medals won before then really should be melted down and sold as scrap. That said, football was only really invented in 1992, so how much of Liverpool’s really count anyway?

We love modern football, right?
