Fantasy Football

Last time I out I was singing the praises of Christmas. It’s amazing the damage a Tottenham Hotspur free zone on New Year’s Eve can make, eh? With no Harry Kane, Delle Alli or Ben Davies to pick things needed mixing up quickly.

How did I do?

Jordan Pickford, 4 points

After picking him up the other week and Pickford being great, I made him captain in Kane’s absence. I mean, Everton were playing Bournemouth so clearly another clean sheet heading my way. Oh.

Ben Mee, 5 points

Yet another Burnley defender, yet another clean sheet for me. He blotted his copybook with a silly yellow but hey, welcome to the team Ben.

Cesar Azpilicueta, 6 points

A clean sheet but no assist against Stoke’s reserve team. Still, what a first half of the season Cesar has had for me (and Chelsea of course).

Jamaal Lascelles, 6 points

Newcastle United are so much better when he plays. More points for him, even if them and Brighton did have some kind of weird pact not to score.

Phil Jones, 9 points

Welcome back, Phil. 9 points? That means you were man-of-the-match in a shit 0-0 draw at home to Southampton, no? Blimey.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek, 0 points

Meh, didn’t play against City.

Richarlison, 5 points

Yet another assist for the Brazilian. He will not be at Watford next season. Which will be a shame for my Fantasy side.

N’Golo Kante, 3 points

Yeah, I had to go and sign him again. He gets a point extra for the clean sheet. He’ll be back on the bench soon though.

David Silva, 0 points

Didn’t play, isn’t it.

Sergio Aguero, 1 point

To be fair to him, he didn’t expect to play and Palace were very good at the back.

Shinji Okazaki, 1 point

Yeah, I know. I’ve missed the boat by about two years with Shinji. Oh well.

Total: 40 points

Below average in this gameweek, which is a bit more like me. I remain 17th in the FMG league but I have dropped in Spain dammit.

With Spurs having a double gameweek I have a chance to make up some ground again though. Harry Kane has been triple captained and we go again!
