Although they are a solid unit, Burnley away was a game we expected to take something from, and the result wasn\u2019t helped by the manner of performance and entertainment value. This trumped Man Utd vs Tottenham as the worst game of the weekend by the proverbial mile, I was bored watching it as a Geordie so can\u2019t imagine what it was like for the neutrals out there.<\/p>\n<p>Baffled as to why Rafa still keeps faith in Joselu after another dire performance in which he failed to look like League Two standard, never mind Premier League. I know he likes his Spanish players but surely he can see that the guy couldn\u2019t hit a barn door if he had all day. Mitrovic left out of the squad altogether, madness!<\/p>\n<p>Latest takeover news is that the potential new owners will copy the Man City business model, here\u2019s hoping this gets sorted ASAP and we get a decent striker in January or else the early season optimism will soon be forgotten. Either that or Everton appoint Rafa as their new manager and we get Alan Pardew back, although I think I\u2019d get shot for saying that in Geordie land.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Spurs (Harry Kane FC) lose without him<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>With Harry Kane being injured, Tottenham turned to their newly acquired target man to lead the line in Fernando Llorente. Oh wait, they instead played Son up front on his own and succumbed to defeat at the hands of Mr anti-football himself, Jose Mourinho. Despite the stick he gets, Mourinho knows how to win games and delivered again against a Tottenham side missing their star man, who apparently suffered a back injury due to carrying the team on his shoulders all season. The style wasn\u2019t great, but Man Utd got the job done and I\u2019m sure the fans would take that if it means the title at the end of the season, although they will have to hope Man City take a nosedive for that to happen.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Let\u2019s all laugh at Sunderland<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>In other, non-Premier League-related news, Sunderland are awful! All the Mackems were laughing at us when we got relegated (twice) and now look at them, the laughing stock of North-East football. We bounced back at the first attempt on both occasions, waving at them on the way past last season, while yet another home defeat has left them in a precarious position in the Championship relegation zone, with seemingly no hope or sign of revival anytime soon.<\/p>\n<p>Fingers crossed they keep the current trend going and suffer back-to-back relegations, although that will mean no Tyne-Wear derby for many years to come unless we draw them in the Cup. A handful of Geordie fans say they would like Sunderland back up as it makes for a better rivalry, but for me that\u2019s blasphemy!
