Just like against Man Utd a few weeks ago, the goal came from Dwight Gayle, and another similarity from that game was I had genuine hopes we could hang on. Unfortunately, I was wrong again. We are really missing Jamaal Lascelles at the back, before his untimely injury we were solid in defence, now I worry every time the opposition has the ball. Chelsea were by far the better side, showing the difference in quality between the respective squads. One major positive to take out of the game was the benching of Joselu by Rafa, who must finally have come to his senses and realised that Joselu is the worst striker to play in the black and white of the Toon since Albert Luque almost 10 years ago.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Big Sam gets Everton back on track<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>What a difference a week can make, Everton are now 10th in the league after demolishing sorry West Ham 4-0 and then backing it up with a solid home win over Huddersfield. Rooney bagged a hat-trick including a goal of the season contender with another from his own half, if Allardyce can get him back scoring goals, Everton may be on for a decent season after all. From looking likely to get relegated, they now can take aim at the top eight finish that many predicted before the season kicked off.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Potential title decider coming up this weekend, and it could be a thriller<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Although I hesitate to predict this before Christmas has even come around, the result of the Manchester derby at the weekend will play a huge factor in the destination of the Premier League title in May. With Tottenham looking a shadow of their former self and no one else, other than possibly Chelsea, seemingly capable of mounting a title challenge, it will be left to Manchester United and City to battle for the crown. With both teams setting a searing pace, it is possible that the deciding factor will be down to the derby matches and which team manages to stay the most injury-free. At Old Trafford this weekend, United will be looking to capitalise on home advantage to close the gap to City, and although Mourinho is an expert in parking the bus and securing a draw against the big teams, United have to try and take the game to City and beat them before it\u2019s too late. Hopefully, United snatch a win and keep the title race interesting, surely no one wants City to run away with it. Another final day battle filled with drama between the Manchester rivals, as was the case in 2012, would be absolutely fine by me.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Not again!
