Stoke City

Another transfer window brings with it one certainty; it’s Saido Berahino’s time to shine. He has never been far from the headlines throughout his career, but it seems he’s always in the spotlight as soon as the transfer period comes around.

It’s like he has been about the footballing scene for quite some time now, but it’s worth noting that the striker is only 23 years old. From tweeting that he would never play for the club again under then-chairman Jeremy Peace, to scoring four goals in a game without celebrating, he really has a lot to be proud of in his short footballing (kind of) career.

Spurs were after young Saido in summer 2015, and now it’s the world-famous Stokealona who are going to pay his bills. The poor lad hasn’t kicked a ball since September, but that’s all about to change as he completed his £12m move to the midlands.

I can’t believe Pulis has actually agreed to the transfer. I mean, it really does sound like something he would say no to. Only Big Tony would be arrogant enough to turn down that sort of money just so he can maintain his love/hate relationship with the forward.

Maybe it’s because the former Stoke boss just couldn’t say no to his beloved Potters, or perhaps more interestingly he secretly despises Saido and wants him to suffer the effects of a cold, windy night at the now-called Bet365 Stadium.

The exciting news for the little guy is that he has signed a five-and-half-year deal, meaning he can surely start banging them in as soon as possible.

I mean, he seriously had to move on didn’t he? The club sent him to France for crying out loud! Okay that obviously doesn’t sound that bad, but when you realise that they sent him there to lose weight then that’s another matter entirely. That conditioning camp for weight-loss must have really done wonders for a young footballer’s confidence…

Surely there are other stars in the game that are a lot worse off than the wee man, like the Adebayo Akinfenwa’s of the world. Don’t get me wrong they don’t get much more professional than the Football League legend, but the former West Brom lad can’t be that unfit can he?

All joking aside it really has been quite a tragic career that clearly has a lot of potential, and so if he can eventually forget about his time at The Hawthorns then we may actually see the star in proper action.
