Transfer Tales
The season really is almost over but that means that the transfer rumours are really hotting up. So sit back and relax as Tales guides you through this weeks major transfer stories.
Manchester United are at the centre of this weeks transfer rumours. When they’re not busy paying agents eight figure sums they’re busy scouting top talent and apparently they’d quite like Gareth Bale. I wouldn’t read too much into this one as its from The Sun and Bale has been linked to United in every window for the past five years. Someone who United are definitely interested in is Alvaro Morata, who is also attracting interest from Chelsea and Arsenal. Arsenal of course could’ve signed him years ago on the cheap but decided not to bother (probably.)
China usually has a few mental transfer rumours and apparently Ezequiel Lavezzi has signed a new contract at Hebei China Fortune (me neither) worth a cool £798,000 a week! Diego Costa is also attracting major interest from China but also from his former club Atletico Madrid who would quite fancy him or want away Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez to bolster their striking ranks. The Madrid club also would be interested in Jamie Vardy as well, which would be a very interesting move for the Englishman.
Oriol Romeu could be trading Southampton for Barcelona according to The Star and West Brom quite fancy adding Boro centre back Ben Gibson to their ranks. Imbula is on the verge of leaving Stoke as well because if you’ve got Charlie Adam why would you even need any other centre midfielders? West Ham look to be adding some soon to be ex-Man City players to their ranks as they young and spritely Yaya Toure could be joining Pablo Zabaleta at the London Stadium next season. West Ham have rewarded Michail Antonio with a new contract, in a surprisingly sensible move.
Ross Barkley is kicking up a fuss over at Everton as he refuses to sign a new contract. Ronald Koeman has told him to sign by the end of the season or he’ll be sold at the end of the season. The likes of Spurs and Manchester United are apparently very interested. Back to United again and its still unclear what the future holds for Wayne Rooney but if he wants regular game time surely a move is his only option?
Right that’s all for this week and I’m just off to check whether Harry Redknapp’s Birmingham City have signed Niko Kranjcar yet.
