Midweek Premier League action – a chance to narrow the gap on the top 25 or the moment I slip further down the table?
Shall we find out?
Ben Foster, 10 points
Nice one Benny boy. A clean sheet against Liverpool wasn’t that expected, and now that Rob Elliot has been banished at Newcastle Foster is getting automatically selected for me. It worked out this time though!
Jamaal Lascelles, 2 points
The Newcastle United skipper is back but Newcastle still managed to lose to Everton. Still, better than no points.
Phil Jones, 8 points
Jonesy is back too and got a clean sheet against Bournemouth. It would be good if he had a run of games now, he’s done great for me this season.
Ben Davies, 1 point
Davies came on for one minute against Brighton. STOP DROPPING HIM!
Cesar Azpilicueta, 2 points
Unable to keep a clean sheet against West Ham, unable to keep a clean sheet against Huddersfield and still not assisting Morata. I am starting to wonder what I saw in you Cesar.
Steven Ward, 1 point
Only played 40 minutes against Stoke and is 75% for the next match so I reckon he must have gone off injured. Shame really, it was another Burnley clean sheet.
Richarlison, 6 points
Watford might be nose-diving at the moment, but Richarlison is still doing some of the business. He assisted their goal against Palace and set up Troy Deeney forĀ that miss.
Dele Alli, 1 point
Rested, innit.
David Silva, 16 points
Imperious against Swansea City with two goals and three bonus points. I just wish I’d made him skipper.
Harry Kane, 4 points
I remembered to make Harry captain again! Which doubled his two points for just turning up. Come on Kane, every game please, every game.
Sergio Aguero, 6 points
A goal for the returning Argentine. I need him to play every week.
Total: 57 points
All my arrows are green as I move into 24th place in our FMG league. Apparently, I am through to the next round of the cup as well. Incredibly, a back five did OK in the fantasy world but I do not like it. The squad has issues, and it is going to cost me points to change it up.
I need rid of Elliot, Abraham and Kante at the very least to give me some decent options in the squad – Jordan Pickford at Everton suddenly looks like a decent shout but I’d need to free up budget. Kante out and Ruben Loftus-Cheek in could be a good move as he is playing every week and Palace are just starting to hit some form. Finally, I think I might bring in Shinji OkazakiĀ to make up my forward line as I cannot find a way of financially spinning things to get anyone better in.
If I do that, it only costs me 4 points. That has to be a no-brainer…?
Considering I have no Fantasy Football brain I am taking the hit.
Come on!
